Polarizer is an important part of LCD screen, so we can say they are good partners.

When the light is reflected from the surface of an object, it has been partially polarized and glare is produced. Glare increases brightness while reducing color saturation and making the contours of objects unclear, causing eye fatigue and discomfort. The polarizer is designed to eliminate this glare. The polarizer is composed of PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) in the middle, two layers of TAC (cellulose triacetate), PSA film (pressure sensitive adhesive), Release film (release film) and protective film (protective film). As shown in the figure below.

The polarizers of LCD screen mainly include the following categories:

1. Ordinary viewing angle polarizer in TN display mode: thickness of 0.13mm, 0.15mm, 0.17mm, 0.22mm

2. Ultra-wide viewing angle polarizer (Enhanced Wide Viewing angle-EWV polarizer) in TN display mode: thickness of 0.17mm, 0.22mm, 0.26mm.

EWV polarizer, characterized by ‘’thick’’, can be understood as a thickened version of IPS polarizer.

The viewing angle is narrower than IPS, mainly used in small and medium size.

3. IPS mode full viewing angle polarizer: thickness of 0.11mm, 0.13mm, 0.15mm, 0.17mm

IPS polarizer characterized by ‘’thin’’ and ‘’ultra-high contrast’’, is mainly used in small sized products.
